Security PSA! If you have API keys associated with your Coinbase (or any other account) - I strongly urge you to rotate them periodically. API keys are often used, by design, by 3rd party services. Any breach of those 3rd parties can result in your API key material being stolen! Don't be a victim! Secure your keys!

Hi, I'll escalate this to our support team. The recovery phrase will allow you to reconnect to a smart wallet through the web interface (wallet.coinbase.com) but cannot be imported directly into a standard wallet.

That is not to suggest that our Smart Wallets are in any way more / less secure than our stand alone wallet product. I keep my "pocket change" there because it's CRAZY easy to transact with it, so I'm a bit looser in how I operate. e.g. if I'm going to get popped, it's likely going to be there.

All that said - I encourage everyone to practice good wallet hygiene. My approach is: 1) I use a hardware wallet to hold the assets I REALLY care about. 2) I use Coinbase Wallet (chrome extension) to hold enough assets to satisfy my inner degen. 3) I use a Smart Wallet for my pocket change.

One of the better features is our integration with https://www.blockaid.io/. Smart wallets are fully integrated, offering phishing and other protections to Smart Wallet users.

Of course, you do have to create a passkey, and not lose it! But it's a much simpler and more streamlined process, making it an attractive option for a lot of current (and potential) crypto users.
