Just bought Elden Ring, and it's already looking pretty complex. What happened to the simple games? I miss the days of playing straightforward titles like Tomb Raider, Aladdin, Crash Bandicoot, Tony Hawk’s, ...  on my PS1. Easy to pick up and a blast to play. Why does everything have to be so complicated these days?

the story, the inventory, the crafting, the points (intelligence, spirit, force, defense, ...), does not feel that simple

It's literally one of the simples games ever tho? Literally just attack monster in front of you. Doesn't have anything else
