most things in crypto are not meaningfully better, faster or cheaper than their web2 counterparts they're trying to displace (they don't add sufficient value to me as a consumer for me to use them regularly)

as an onchain user, i need a ‘mother wallet’ or smth that everything i do links to my fid as an offchain user, we’re in a bubble that generates more sub-bubbles instead of solving real needs in today’s economy

I can't find the cast, but someone casted that "we've focused on making things usable, but not on making them useful" and I agree. I am maybe in the minority at this point who thinks ethereum should not be abstracted away. It should be fun and interesting enough for people to *want* to learn to use it. Things like FC.

the tldr is there isn't really a merchant platform for web3. /outpaint has to integrate with 10x dev sdks. its a lot of work. how can users benefit if merchants can't get value first? if merchants can make higher margins via crypto rails, they will adopt. we haven't even scratched interoperability.

It's still too far from the real world. There are too many blockchains. The complexity of popular tools. Fraud is a huge concern

1. Not enough consumer apps which are meaningful. 2. VC’s are still hyper funding chains or infra, impacting 1.

No critical use cases, similar to what @oxb said. Can’t use identity for healthcare, can’t use a single wallet across irl purchases, etc.

Biggest frustration is that crypto hasn't nailed easy wallets and transactions yet. Once we do, we're on a fast track to a new economy, wealth distribution, and maybe even solving major global issues.

I still think discovery is an issue. I'm not sure how that gets solved for people who don't have the time or interest to hunt for interesting things to do onchain.
