How do you keep political convos productive in your family?

lets say thats not an option the next couple years. what do you do?

depends on the politics, but I'd probably first try and just listen to the viewpoints that are making the convos difficult. and see if i can understand them clearly.

easier said than done but goal would be to diffuse the tension. at least agree to disagree

you could always not engage, compelled speech is a form of violence

or just talk about the slice where you agree
