VCs who shill memecoins without pointing out the unique nature of degen and its set of complex yet simple mechanisms have the potential to mislead a whole set of founders

5000 $degen for speaking the truth even if it may not be popular

I don't think $DEGEN was/is a memecoin.

It launched as a points system for Farcaster activity > then a tipping mechanism > then a sort of token-as-a-service for degen-ish apps > and now infrastructure for the $degen community.

At first, I thought it was like dogecoin for farcaster; now it's more like the next Solana.

Also don't think companies can launch enduring memecoins

IMO memes and memecoins must organically come from the community.

A memecoin can launch a company (i.e. bonk) but not the other way around.
