Also this is soft behavior. 

Devs, like everyone else, need skin in the game and not to have such fragile egos. 

Set a realistic date, try to hit it.. if you fail, take accountability and own it.

I mean if it is just an idea and one needs more than a year to figure out how to make it work, maybe they aren’t ready for investments.

Seems pretty common for most devs. You can set a date, and on that date you can release what’s ready, but hard to predict what will be ready on a date. But also depends a bit on the kind of work that needs to be done (complex or not.) New things harder to predict.

You’re taking me seriously right now. 

We have this web3 builder culture that thinks they can do it all and their way is the best way. This is why web3 isn’t taken seriously. 

I get devs resent their day job managers, but if your side project is a business, act like it. If it’s a hobby, say so.

You literally posted a screenshot of Derek under-promising and then casted whatever angry thought came to mind. 

And you expect people to take you seriously?

The promise is in the product description. We can ask when we might to use the product we invested in right?

I’d have been satisfied with even a response that a functioning mvp will be launched in a year. Expecting people to pay demand no accountability sounds like a scam.

Your thoughts are valid and appreciated. My responses:

- not promising is also a way to deliver nothing and not be held accountable 

- the response was it’ll be delivered when it’s done. Funny thing is that there *IS* a posted roadmap that a third party ended up sending. This all was for nothing in the end. I only disagree with your last point. Founders absolutely owe their supporters and investors as the lifeblood of their project. Without them they are nothing.

two thoughts

1: not promising you something is exactly how you avoid over promising and under delivering. look at what actually happened in that interaction

2: nobody is asking you to shut up or like it. you’re invested in a liquid market, you can buy or sell at any time - nobody owes you anything
