Have you considered a private school for your kids? I've toured a couple schools and everything seems nice and all but part of me is thinking: kids there really miss out on experiencing hardship, which seems to be a core tenant of growing up to be a strong, resilient human.

I went to a private high school that did a fantastic job at reinforcing resilience & determination more than hardship. There was a strong camping program and every student was camping 2x a year.
