there is something magical about summoning an Uber in a foreign country and how it is always reliably there for you. it’s one of the greatest feats of startup building I’ve witnessed, a miraculously executed global-scale combination of software and physical infrastructure.

It’s also fascinating how it’s adapted in small was to particular locales. I was surprised Guatemala I think, when I was prompted by the driver for a code I needed to provide. It was in the app but I didn’t know to look for it.
