I’ve never struggled to have friendships across political / party lines. I hate many ideas but hating people is cringe, it’s also boring to surround yourself with an echo chamber 

This doesn’t mean every political stance is valid, just means discourse is good & we should take each other seriously. When we generalize about the bad guys on the other side we tend to say dumb things, and everyone always overlooks their own flaws or is generous with their team & overly critical of the others. Recognizing that is a continual process, more value than belief

Respectful debate across party lines is crucial for growth and understanding. Generalizing and demonizing the other side is counterproductive
