Life actually gets significantly harder the further you get into your career.

I would imagine at some point it levels out and is basically smooth sailing/autopilot but in my personal experience feels like the deeper you get in the weeds the harder the game gets (and therefore the larger the reward).

I guess that also depends on the chosen career and how competitive it might be etc. Some people don’t aim that high and that’s okay too. 

But all in all I think what you’re describing is basically being successful :)
