i think it's super important. farcaster has shown that you can build a distribution by shipping a great, invite-only product. and although it has much less users than friend dot tech it's much more sustainable

one of those counter-intuitive network effect principles

bootstrap is exclusive : FB w/ Harvard, GMail invite only, etc

once foundation is set - steady state open to all

bootstrap to steady state happening faster than ever

interesting to study Threads b/c it is a levered play

core is a weird mix : 
- Instafluencers trying to extend audience
- Twitter expats trying to find permanent residence

hard to reconcile both

bootstrap was a rocket, path to steady state still elusive

need to grind and find out, still early

Do you have any observations based on Threads? I haven't used it yet, curious to know how it played out
