Mistborn is stunningly close to The Gentleman Bastards, give it a shot!

Have you read Red Rising? Or (just making sure) The Kingkiller Chronicle (Name of the Wind, Wise Man's Fear) Or Mistborn! I kind of lump all of these in the same area so just firing these off in case you haven't read any!

This exact idea is why I think "The Goal" was the most important business book I've ever read. It lays the foundation of the systematic process of figuring out *what* you should be focusing on (within the framework of constraints). If you haven't read it please please read it.

Have you checked out Athlytic? It's got a yearly sub, not as egregious as the others, and uses apple watch data. https://www.athlyticapp.com/ My guess is it goes a bit against your thesis as it still has these 'instant return' metrics (and literally is an app). But I've found it to be a happy medium for me personally. My ultimate hope is actually the same as yours, that Apple eats all their lunches and handles all of this in-house, and I think the recent 'vitals' update is their first step towards that. Sometimes I also wonder if these health metrics etc are kind of like.. a bunch of info leads you back to the same places: sleep well, eat well, get enough exercise, try not to be too stressed out. Cause even if I look at these metrics it generally boils down to me fucking up one of those things, ya'know?

I would build it into the tank, I think. I suspect you could build a hanger that would (as the water refills in the top tank) distributes the correct amount of reagent into the water, then when it's flushed it would run against both the sensor (which has captured some urine??). But I know next to nothing about this I'm just spitballing because I love cool weird problems. For the poop version were you running like vision models on the poop?? If so that's also so cool???

I wonder if it'll eventually be able to tell you if you have covid, they can track that through wastewater. You won't even need to test anymore. That push notification would be wild. "Oh my toilet says I have covid" We really are in the future.
