My wife made a good point. Why don't movies have endings anymore? It's always ambiguous guesswork. Very rarely a real ending. "Make movies end again" is her new platform and I stand with her on that.

the movies i'm talking about have no ambition of sequels

for ones where a sequel is above say 20-30% probability I get it

worth the trade-off of keeping options open in some of those cases

yea but no ending is a cop out. at least they should take a chance. making a movie in the first place should be taking a chance. otherwise it's just avengers 7. movies should have beginnings middles and ends.

Because a bar ending can kill a good movie. Do you remember those books called “choose your own adventure”? Those were fun

I think they like leaving the door open for a sequel, but that just reduces the satisfaction of a good story 

The best non-ending that was not a sequel was inception imo, with the wobble
