Bitcoin plummets to $93,000; Ethereum, memecoins fall 15%
The cryptocurrency market started the week with a heavy fall. Bitcoin (BTC) hit a daily low of $93,000, while Ethereum (ETH) and top memecoins lost about 15% of their value.
The fall coincided with the announcement of new tariffs by Donald Trump, which has increased concerns about the start of a new trade war. In the wake of these developments, the total value of the cryptocurrency market fell 9.5% to $3.04 trillion, while trading volume increased 182% to $286.91 billion.
Bitcoin has seen $397 million in positions liquidated in the past 24 hours, according to CoinGlass data. Meanwhile, Ethereum fell 18% to $2,551, with $576 million in liquidation in the past day.
Market analysts remain divided on the future of cryptocurrency prices; some expect an improvement, while others see a further decline. 1 reply
