How and why did telegram become the de facto messenger for web3 when something like Signal has such a higher security bar? Seems like a really fascinating case study

Would be curious to hear this answered by someone who got into web3 earlier. For me, network effects. All my web3 frens are on TG. Would be on there even if UX was terrible.
