1. PoS and PoW are symbionts - physical scarcity of hash power underpins the artificial scarcity of PoS

2. Relative energy usage compared to existing banking system is trivial, and relative to value of tamper proof money supply is invaluable

If you don’t believe (1) then (2) is irrelevant for the future. My cope for (1) is that bitcoin is still risk off crypto for institutions - perhaps if ETH narrative takes over then my argument is silly, but PoW was at minimum a requirement for bootstrapping PoS. They will be viewed as diverse bets
