Andrej K makes an interesting point and Autism Capital's dismissive reply is wrong. It is rational to be more afraid of man than of nature, because it is rational to be afraid of powerful optimizers. This is also often why we are more suspicious of for-profit versions than non-profit versions of the same activity.

we all need to get tougher and better at sifting through needlessly damaging, malicious experiences, online and off. We can do this without censorship and Big-Brother/Sister. We can do anything if we keep learning from mistakes.

Yep agree - it’s the calculated and manipulative agency of the tweet that makes it so insidious. Nature does not have an agenda for us, and simply does what it needs to exist. The sun is not hoping that we respond to its heat by buying a certain product 😅
