How do you guys here deal with shin splints if you ever had it.

Like someone said, it’s an overuse injury. I had something similar, and almost felt like a fracture. First, I took two weeks. Then I knew I had to rebuild back up, so started with low mileage, all ran in zone 2 (super easy!). Slowly added miles, all at easy pace. Didn’t run hard until 3 months later.

Reduce your mileage. I had them in February. If you look at my casts you’ll find how I reduced intensity and mileage for a month

Shin splints are an overuse injury. It's too much too soon. You need to rest and drop down your mileage. Also add some run/walk sessions. You have to build up your body slowly to be strong enough for the pounding. Done properly runners hardly ever have knee pain. It takes months and years to get ready to run

I agree with what everyone has said! I know some of my friends have done some scraping on the shins which helped
