One of the interesting things I've found while coding is that timestamp 0 is jan 1 1970. While i've known this for a while as a developer, it never occurred to me that this *had* to be an arbitrary social choice since there is no natural lower bound.

I mean that post is provocative, no one should want authoritarianism. And also the thing in the EU about the govt preventing end to end encryption is terrible. local police having surveillance tools is different from centralized espionage agencies having them. the world is different now that states can attack each other by manipulating social media. i can't see how a state can defend against that with a total ban on large-scale tooling.

there is also no way to have the state create personal safety from violence through the monopoly on use of force without resulting in some abuse. there's a spectrum to how far we go to protect privacy and, while the post was worded provocatively, I think the underlying point is not trivially ignored.

what is your local testnet software? anvil? looks like that is running out of memory and artificially limiting this. there is a --memory-limit argument that might help
