it is the best outcome in the Middle East given the circumstances. Iran had to respond to the Israel attack in Syria, Israel had to respond to Iran’s retaliation, the targets and scale of both show that neither side wants an actual war with the other, also shows US doesn’t want a big confrontation with Iran
