Saying rituals don’t matter, is like saying the taste of food doesn’t matter because it all ends up in your stomach anyway - you are not wrong, but well, you’re missing the message

Let me more specific by what I mean when I say ritual:

creating and destroying; built flying cars & autonomous vehicles, now building /faust, more here: /july, web: july.rocks

Kinda agrees (as usual), expect for the fact that rituals are also a way to exclude people who are not in the known. Take the tea ceremony ;) 
I loooove the drink, but I found 茶道 to be ridiculously complicated, with those codes having no impact on the actual taste. I really felt it was a way to repell intruders. So all not so pretty.
