Is there a term for the situation where you spend a lot of time and effort finding a workaround for a problem, only to find out that it’s a known issue and will be patched in the next release?

I think it's super frustrating when that happens. Waste of time and energy, but at least it'll be fixed in the next release. Oh well, better luck next time!
