3/9 AMATERASU: JAPAN
Amaterasu’s light touched the earth with grace, a soft brilliance that unfurled at dawn like a blossom opening to the sky. In the land of the Japanese, she rose from her celestial abode each morning, her presence gentle yet powerful, illuminating forests and rice fields, casting a delicate glow over sacred shrines. The people of Japan knew her as their protector, her radiance a quiet blessing that nurtured life. In her light, there was peace, an unbroken rhythm that spoke of balance. The day would always return because Amaterasu was there, her light woven into the very breath of the world, eternal and serene.

4/9 HELIOS: GREECE
Helios climbed the sky each day, his chariot drawn by flaming horses that raced toward the horizon. For the ancient Greeks, his journey was one of duty, relentless and vast. He saw the world beneath him—the cities and seas, the ships and armies—but his eyes never lingered. Helios moved with purpose, the arc of his path older than the myths the Greeks told. He was the watcher, the guardian of day, carrying the sun across the sky like a shield of light. From dawn’s first touch to dusk’s final blaze, Helios never stopped, his mission as constant as the turning earth beneath Greece.

5/9 INTI; INCA
Inti rose over the peaks of the Andes, his light gilding the stone terraces and valleys below. For the Inca people, he was the life-giver, the warmth that allowed crops to grow and the empire to flourish. The Incas looked to him for guidance, for his presence meant abundance, his absence, hardship. Inti’s golden rays were soft, but they carried with them the weight of kingship. His descent into the west was not a departure but a promise, a cycle that spoke of continuity. The world beneath him would change, empires would rise and fall, but to the Inca, Inti’s light would always return, steady and sure, from horizon to horizon.

6/9 RA: EGYPT
Ra emerged from the depths of the Nile, his boat of light cutting through the darkness. To the Egyptians, he was the creator, the father of all life, his golden rays stretching over the desert and the river, bringing the world into being with each new day. Ra’s journey across the sky was a royal procession, his passage assured and majestic. The people of Egypt bowed in reverence as his light touched the temples and pyramids, knowing it was Ra who breathed life into the land. As he descended into the underworld each night, the world waited, for they knew Ra would rise again, eternal and all-seeing.

7/9 SURYA: INDIA
Surya burst from the horizon in a chariot of golden wheels, drawn by seven horses whose hooves pounded the sky. To the Hindus of India, his light was fierce and vital, blazing across rivers and fields, igniting the earth with life. Surya was the unshakable force that governed time, his presence commanding and unwavering. He drove across the heavens with precision, marking the hours with his fiery passage. From the first light of dawn to the last ember of dusk, Surya’s radiance never faltered, a guiding force that brought clarity, strength, and renewal to the people of India with every rise.

8/9 TONATIUH:AZTEC
Tonatiuh rose from the east with the strength of a warrior, his light fierce and unyielding, demanding sacrifice to keep the world turning. The Aztecs feared and respected him. His heat scorched the earth, his brightness a fire in the sky that could not be ignored. The Aztecs knew his hunger, the price of his power, and they gave him what he required, knowing that without their offerings, he would falter, and darkness would consume the world. Tonatiuh was not a gentle god. He was the force that sustained and destroyed, his journey across the heavens as much a battle as a blessing, a reminder to the Aztec people of the delicate balance he upheld.
