Coinbase has published a tweet about cbBTC. This is likely a wrapped version of bitcoin on the Base blockchain for integration into the DeFi ecosystem. The exchange said it will be launched “in the near future.” The cbBTC is expected to compete with the most popular version of bitcoin on Ethereum WBTC, which faced criticism days earlier.
