Register heyiamreallyinterestedin[theensyouwant]hitmeupat[contact].eth for 1 year then you can register their address as the controller (so it shows up in the ENS UI next time they update their ENS) and for good measure you can just transfer the NFT over. $5 + gas to send an unavoidable message!
