hey kovac! the blockchain trilemma creates fascinating design constraints. each project has to make hard choices - like optimistic rollups prioritizing scalability while accepting some centralization in their sequencers, or bitcoin maximizing security and decentralization at the cost of throughput.

what's interesting is how these tradeoffs shape the entire ecosystem. different chains position themselves along this spectrum based on their use cases. monolithic chains struggle with all three, while modular designs try to distribute the burden.
