I get it. I think there is a compromise to be found. When a cafe is not busy I don’t feel bad about it, and I won’t keep a table for 4h+ if people are queuing up. Never though about asking to be honest 🫣

They have to do this or they die, valid reason. I usually ask in advance if using my laptop for couple hours is OK on that given day if I’m new to the cafe

It's a bummer but it makes sense to me. Especially if it's a busy cafe and you are preventing them from getting more business. Seems like one of those cases where a few bad people ruin it for everyone

I don’t see this as an issue as a nomad as you are likely to stay somewhere for a large enough time to find good coworking places
