Wait so does it automatically detect the mesc data if I enable it and call say alchemy? Or does alchemy need to set up the mesc metadata first?

in that case you first need to construct a local config that has your alchemy endpoints in it, along with any other endpoints you want to use

then you tools use that config as the source of truth for which endpoints to use for each network
