Spent quite a lot of time in this lobby. Just to the left of that bench The Circus made by Calder was on permanent display with a TV playing a documentation of one of his performances. As I recall the museum now belongs to the MET and remains pretty much as it appears in this picture. The exterior is very impressive as well. If not a big foreboding. The current Whitney is downtown in the meat packing district. My favourite thing about it is the views of the city looking east. Very majestic view of the downtown urban manscape.
