“Oh no, one of the reindeer is missing,” exclaimed Santa Claus, just before he left for the long night of Christmas Eve, the most important night of the year for him and his reindeer troupe.
“Are you sure, Santa?” Rudolph, his first reindeer, asked quietly. “Or did you just miscount again?” added the reindeer, looking despondently at the now half-empty bottle of bourbon.
Santa looked at Rudolph with a vacant expression, whereupon the reindeer took to counting for him, “One, two, three, four... Okay Santa, they're all there!” he exclaimed to reassure the old man.
Santa sighed, “Oh well, I could have sworn one was missing....” He straddled the sleigh and in a loud voice shouted, “Oh, oh, oh, here we go!” Thanks to Rudolph, Christmas and the children's presents were safe.
