Why are you back here? 
    I asked, trying to keep my emotions in check. My ex-boyfriend stood before me, a mix of regret and hope in his eyes.

   I couldn't help but think about the past, about the pain he had caused me. He had left me without warning, without explanation. Now, he was asking for a second chance.

   He told me he had realized his mistakes, that he had taken me for granted. He promised to make it right, to prove to me that he was committed to our relationship.

   I'm torn. A part of me wants to believe him, to forgive him and take him back. But another part of me is wary, remembering the pain he had caused me. I don't know what to do.
