Identifying and navigating out of local maximums is the primary job of founders. Large and innovative product changes look and feel like this chart. You have painful and short term transition to a new thing, that then sets you on a path to a higher path you wouldn't have achieved otherwise.

The middle zone is also what some of us mean as “be mediocre”. When the red line starts, pretty sure most feedback is rather negative on red, and founders need to choose well and look beyond (but not ignoring feedback!) FAFO is where innovation, evolution lies.
