So, someone builds an even smaller shortcut road on top of the second road, now that’s Layer 3 (L3).
This one is designed for special trips, like delivery bikes or emergency vehicles, fast, specific, and efficient.
So:
Layer 1 = The main road (e.g. @ethereum , @base )
Layer 2 = A faster helper road built on it (e.g. @optimism @arbitrum , @base itself)
Layer 3 = An extra shortcut for niche stuff (like games, creators, or learning platforms) built on L2.
Each layer is helping the one below to work better and faster.
