Why aren’t capital gains inflation adjusted before being taxed? For example, let’s say you invest $100 into a stock and then sell it for $110 a year later, with the inflation rate for that year being 2%. You should only owe capital gains taxes on the inflation adjusted $8 gain instead of on the full $10 gain.

scared ? If yes, then you should train your mind We may see a drop to around 51k, this would wipe out many of the retail trades but if that happens it will be a good opportunity to buy as liquidity will see an increase in momentum in Q3

The US doesn't tax you so they can spend the money. They tax you to give value to the money they are going to spend anyway. And if you think this is silly, or stupid, or unethical, or will end badly, or whatever...I'm happy to agree with you. But it is what it is

Bitcoin means more to me than just making money. I believe in backing something that can change the world for the better. Even if it becomes worthless, I'll take pride in supporting a worthy cause. But I don't foresee that happening. Bitcoin addresses the most critical issue we face today.
