Building on a tight timeline, hiring engineers while customers bang down your door, is a reminder: AI won’t replace talented software engineers anytime soon. Technical products are like icebergs, what ships is just the tip, with a massive backlog hidden beneath. Thank goodness for Claude/ChatGPT.

This is a really great summary of where BlueSky is as platform. TLDR; seems still quite centralized and cumbersome to build on top of. One thing that’s interesting is that the CEO has a crypto background (worked at Zcash) and they raised money from a crypto vc (Blockchain capital).

Love these narratives. I definitely feel theirs room for innovation with both. Regarding number 2, have you guys been looking at what BlueSky offers re APIs. I’m curious how that compares as I haven’t seen many developers building stuff on that.

For hiring and lead gen, farcaster is at parity with Twitter and massively outperforms both Linkedin (lol) and Bluesky. To be fair to 🦋, I’m still very early on in my journey with that platform. My handle is the same across all 3.

Funny how working with Claude/ChatGPT often beats pairing with another software engineer. Sure, LLMs hallucinate but so do humans. Perfect reasoning isn’t needed for this to have a massive impact. Feels like we’re at the cutting edge of realizing that.

This aligns with my experience too, even though we don’t do takehomes. I encourage seed-stage companies to let candidates use LLMs in interviews. But we do spend our limited amount of walking time focused on a limited number of media channels. In the past it was network tv, today, its YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit and Twitter (I refuse to call it X). That’s the point of the analogy.
