Great point. This is why I think managers are often better at using LLMs than coders. They’re used to working with people who don’t do things exactly the way they want, but still get the job done within acceptable tolerances. Much like piloting an Eva, the skill of the operator is just as important as the machine.

Credibility is a mispriced asset. In a crowded dev tools world, open source is a great way to gain attention. But who do you trust to recommend it? With VC-backed projects using usage-based models, how do you know they won’t change the price or license, wasting months of effort?

I think this is a cool ‘hello world’ demo for a developer building on BlueSkys AT Protocol. Article covers hosting on a PDS. Social apps have two content types: records (structured data like posts) and blobs (media like images). On Bluesky, blobs are uploaded to a PDS, then referenced in records.

Well from the point of view of someone illustrating how to build on top of BlueSkys infrastructure this is actually pretty informative. A website is a pretty good hello world project that touches on a lot of questions I would have as a developer.

Yes. Decentralization doesn’t matter—until it does. The core tools and infrastructure we rely on for our digital lives shouldn’t be controlled by private companies. Protocols may be a better fit for ensuring long-term stability and fairness.

HDD. Hallucination-driven development. When the LLM hallucinates a better API than you have written and you decide to incorporate it. https://x.com/jarredsumner/status/1860741252536492425?s=46&t=Bc9m1uknKGxrhqisx2EO2g

We’re in a value extraction phase of the internet: Twitter blocking competitor links, MongoDB changing licenses, WordPress trademark drama. It’s never been more important to choose tools carefully, as VC-backed startups and public companies ramp up rent-seeking for revenue.

Important to note: Bluesky DMs are fully centralized, meaning the same issues as Twitter (e.g., blocking links to offsite profiles) could happen there. Not a dealbreaker, but a key trade-off to consider when investing time in the platform. It’s not the same as having someones email address

Great analogy comparing Bluesky to an open network, like a web browser for non-engineers. If you were trying to purple pill people on Farcaster, what overview article and examples would you use? https://bsky.app/profile/emilyliu.me/post/3lbq7dp6k6k2x
