AI won’t replace SaaS for the same reason Excel hasn’t replaced enterprise software, someone has to care about the details. Edge cases, security, compliance, access controls, and support at critical moments are why enterprise contracts get signed. AI can generate code, but it can’t own the problem.

Ah yes, if a complex product works on the surface, then it works! No need to worry about pesky details like security, compliance, or failure modes. Just like FTX totally ‘worked’—right up until it didn’t. Just what every Fortune 500 company wants :)

You’re moving the goal posts of the argument. Most SaaS are very simple and don’t require any of those things.
