There are a lot of factors that can affect the network. For starters, you can switch your validator node from WiFi to a LAN cable. Does the latency cause issues with your attestations? Do you see missed attestations frequenty?

Home stakers & node operators! We created a survey to start creating better data on what home / solo stakers care about & need, in their own words! It helps researchers kno how to advocate for us (some Qs were contributed by them!) Pls fill it out if you run validators! https://stakinglandscape.limesurvey.net/748278

What are you using right now? And are you sure the router is the actual bottleneck and not the ISP itself?

Destin (Getting Smarter Everyday on YouTube) made a good video on the topic. Apart from visual there are a few other phenomenons like winds changing and animal behaviour. Experiencing that in person at least once can be worth the travel I'd imagine :)

Built a few extra hillside46 boards (open hardware/software by mmccoyd on GitHub). I've been using one at work and wanted another one at home but the JLCPCB minimum batch is 5 PCBs :) MCU is an RP2040 SeaPicro, Choc v1 brown/white switches, clear, white and black cases.

eth-docker depends on docker compose, so you must have it installed in order to run the stack (I'm assuming you have it running already) try "ethd cmd" command that I mentioned, if ethd commands give you errors then you probably don't have docker compose installed You can get technical help in ethstaker discord btw

If you didn't touch your .env file, it will be the "latest" docker image version at the time you ran ./ethd up. Running ./ethd version should still work. "./ethd cmd" is a wrapper around "docker compose". So, to check the teku version directly inside a container you can run: ./ethd cmd exec consensus teku --version

I am prototyping a collectors-like app for people who are into locksport (recreational lock picking) where proving that you opened a lock earns you a non transferable nft. Is building on farcaster a good decision for this to add the social/voting elements? How can I get started with it? Currently testing with foundry.

Gotta go with eth-docker if you're already familiar with containerised apps. Even without any knowledge of docker it's dead easy to setup - essentially a few cli commands and a few lines in .env file.

not to mention, if previously gathered data (for "analytics purposes") already had a phone number associated but was not used to target ads, you could probably leverage that and create profiles from existing data, with the help of MTS of course

this would be cool, it's otherwise difficult to reach the owner, if they don't use opensea or actively trade ENS

This pretty much allows you to link all the gathered activity to a name behind a SIM card. So if you used your name to register a SIM, any behaviour (by extension political views and maybe some threat-score) can be attributed to you as an individual.

I ran besu+lighthouse for a while but had issues with missed attestations and Java VM consuming a ton of ram. Switched to nethermind and been smooth sailing since.

Yeah I kinda feel the same, but my other validators cannot sustain the RPL purchase every month. Thanks for the suggestion! I'm okay with missing out on RPL rewards for a few cycles :)

I have a couple of solo validators and a couple of rocketpool ones. How religious are you about keeping your RPL collateral above minimum? I find that almost every monthly RPL round I need to add at least 0.5 ETH to stay above 10%, which I gave up on recently.
