If you’re surprised you’re not in a channel, ask for an invite. Automated memberships used a simple heuristic. It’s not a personal judgment about you. Just ask for an invite.

Of course in most cases it is not a personal judgement, but are you going to ask everyone for an invite if you want to post something relevant in a channel for once? It's a barrier for common casters.
