we should try weird new ways to make money. but we can make old ways better too. instant auth, fast cheap payments, and a network of fat wallets make ideas that sucked a few years ago good again. shops, ticketing, crowdfunds, subscriptions, services, sponsorship… https://x.com/gakonst/status/1913637367854014896

proven models can be better and cheaper with social + crypto. if you're building a platform the tools finally work. if you're a creator who wants to do your own thing you've never had more agency. and yet how many times do you find yourself leaving this app to sign up for an event, buy a T-shirt, fund a project? why can't every creator set up their own shop or studio on their own terms? we can do better.

Big agree on this. Also to mention that old ways work better for people consuming content like Spotify, YouTube and instagram kind. And the reality is it’s always going to be easier to make money when the people consuming your content are happy. And crypto totally can make it better. For example, two YouTubers could collaborate on a vid and auto split using a contract. I feel like crypto can enable so much more collaboration than web2 with the right products and infra.

Yes! If you want to onboard a billion people make stuff which people need and want. I don’t think anybody needs a content coin.

Yes. Nice to see new experiments but so easy to get lost in the idea maze. This is a good moment in time to get back to basics.
