If frames could add an (optional) RSS feed in farcaster.json, it would enable clients to provide: - Automatic notifications for new content - Frame- and user- specific feeds in app - Native in-app readers/media players - Commenting using content URI as a FIP-2 topic

Why? It is very hard to manage RSS subscriptions as an app. What's wrong with frame notifications as they are now?

I imagine it more for syndicating content (podcasts, blog posts, developer updates) than app-specific notifications.

Polling RSS feeds is a huge burden, that waists a lot of resources. This was one of the design flaws (imo) of RSS. Pubsubhubub intended to fix this, but it was too late. Otoh, we have a push architecture that is much more efficient and much better designed. I would either extend the notification payloads, or the embed_url (there is an FIP for this 😀) in order to cover these types of feeds. We have a feed and it's great!
