Founders who build one business and believe they know how to achieve product/market fit tend to have a rude awakening when they try to build their second business the same way. One startup experience doesn’t mean they know how to achieve it repeatedly.

As a Vancouver guy, I use Chip Wilson as an example here. Had wild success with Lululemon (fabric innovation). Thought he could do the same with Kit and Ace. Turns out catching the yoga wave was a bigger part of his success than fabric innovation.
