Any product category that gets a lot better with a lot more open marketplace participation will see decentralized solutions win. Hyperliquid is a centralized L1 (4 validators) because L2 tech wasn't ready. A direct competitor to HL on L2 will have lower risk and more benefits.

The "ETH is money" narrative is wrong. It’s like saying, "Let’s forget all our problems and just repeat ETH is money." That won’t help. If DeFi leaves Ethereum L1, it’s the end of Ethereum. ETH should focus on being the world computer. The main goal must be to keep current DeFi

Hong Kong’s robust regulatory regime creates an attractive climate for investors who want to experience the upside of cutting-edge technology in finance without fear of losing funds in risky ventures with no legal recourse.

Many simply don't grasp why the Rollup-centric scaling plan is superior. It's a fundamentally better way to scale a blockchain, and people don't get that. I'll do my best to distill the reason. The Rollup construct introduces a concept of generating a 'consensus-friendly' index

It is hard to disagree with the philosophical premises of why one would want a better scientific system; yet a system that does not build resistance to adversarial actions like what DeSci is today ignores a basic tenet of crypto: "verify don't trust"

There was something odd about watching the past several days in Syria. On one level, it felt like deja vu from 2012. At the same time it was a completely different dynamic. The difference that set in motion this historic development is Israel. More precisely: Benjamin Netanyahu.

I think it is time we increased the gas limit. If you run a validator, you can contribute to this -- every block acts as a vote on whether to increase it. If more than 50% of the stake agrees to an increase, the gas

Bob was a huge thing back in 2000s facebook days. Betting on this at 7.5M mcap. The thesis is, if it went viral once why not again? We saw this with Arthur going viral in 2020 and now chillguy.

L2's unironically are much better positioned for gambling, maybe the players need to be raked to death before seeing it but you have significantly deeper on site and rails to liquidity, don't need to use a 1% - 2.5% fee trading bot to land txns as txns literally never fail

Economic finality in Proof of Stake makes Ethereum ~unalterable Bitcoin uses obsolete energy-wasting tech known as proof of work, where nothing is ever unalterable if enough hashpower changes its mind. Btc is all just finality by probability

Strong fundamentals paired with weak price action is pure alpha. I'm just patiently waiting for ETH to die again, so that I can watch it melt faces on the way back up. ETH real world adoption fundamentals and positioning are next level. The way back up will be violent.

Looks like Hudson didn't get the memo that cancel culture was canceled for good a week ago. What transpired last night was an extremely heated debate between myself and Phil (which he instigated). There were personal attacks from both sides.

WiFi works (mostly), sentiment is extremely high, the venue is incredible, the opening talks reflect massive progress since last devcon, and the agenda is absolutely stacked with high quality talks.

The Mekong testnet is the second testnet alongside Odyssey which supports EIP-7702. Hackers should learn how this feature works ASAP, IMO will transform the landscape of wallets /accounts that come bundled with payments and auth. Talk to me about EIP-7702 at devcon.

Hearing that VCs are significantly slowing down infra funding because of the performance of recent infra token launches, which means valuations for rounds should be coming down.

Ethereum is the sum of the L1 and all of the L2's built on top of it. Scaling Ethereum blockspace is also scaling ETH the asset as a commodity money. While not all blockspace is created equal, we should work to scale all of it as much as possible.

Six years ago I wrote: "For ethereum 2018 is the year of infrastructure" Turns out infrastructure season would last a lot longer! Fun to read old writing and see what we got wrong or right, and how the ideas evolved along the way
