Some people criticize centralization...until it benefits them. Would those same voices be critical if this happened on solana farcaster? Are you in a cult? Be honest with yourself if this happened on solana farcaster or lens would you be upset about it because of your ETH bags or farcaster following?

Blockchains are cults. Nevertheless, I agree that one should not provide invalid decentralization or tech critiques.

Anything that ppl attach their identity to is a cult, and it’s in our tribal nature to do so. Before blockchains, it was their OS/distro of choice, mobile phone brand, programming language, DBRMS, etc. Crypto just amplifies this cultish behavior due to money being at stake / people wanting to defend their bags.

I believe it's beyond amplification. The applications you mentioned significantly benefit from having a cult (more upgrades, better ecosystem), but it's not strictly necessary to function. Blockchains derive their entire value from this property.
