Does anybody here build their own soil? If so, do you have a super minimal guide for someone who does not want to go deep in the rabbit hole. Just wants an easy recipe with no real gear needed? πŸ™ƒ

Depends on scale - this is a classic approach https://squarefootgardening.org/2023/04/the-magic-of-mels-mix-soil/

Do you want it for propagating or garden beds? But you can't go past compost.

here’s something simple, equal parts: - manure/compost mix (nutrients) - perlite/vermiculite (porosity) - coco coir/peat moss (water retention)

If you're filling new raised beds then there are good mix recipes that you can find online. If you're amending existing soil (top soil or old beds) then that takes a bit different approach. What are your plans?

Depends on what you have readily available. If you have access to lot of fall leaves, just keep piling them, and you'll get great soil in 4-6 months
