3/ To-date we've offered two options to secure the recovery share:

1️⃣ Automatic: Secured with entropy only the user can access, managed by remote infra

2️⃣ Pw-based: Power users create a password, giving more control but need the pw to provision new devices

4/ Today's launch gives power users a simpler way to secure wallets, starting with Google.

2/ When wallets are created, we split the private key into three shares. 2/3 are needed to use the wallet.

📱 Device share
🔒 Auth share (Privy stored)
🤝 Recovery share (e2ee, only accessible to the user)

Users need to recovery share to access the wallet on a new device.

It’s not quite back up your wallet in that it’s entropy used to secure a recovery share that’s backed up —

+ Google compromise doesn’t leak your key in any way
- you can’t recover if privy goes offline (yet — that’s next)

This might be the first time I've seen "Back up your wallet/account to Google Drive", pretty sick!!

Great feedback, thank you. We hope to leverage webauthn to get security key support (am a big yubikey user) but starting with highest impact

I understand why google was prioritized here do to its familiarity, but please consider additional options such as BitWarden. 
Yubikey integration would also go a long way in giving peace of mind
