Yes -- the in-game account model is how I think about it as well. 
- if dev has an existing wallet --> a contract "router" that allows the user to fund smart wallet up to x, per month (eg)
- if new but has existing crypto account --> CB Pay
- otherwise, traditional on-ramp (can be augmented using an onchain router).

KYC has definitely felt like the biggest blocker.

I've been wondering if there's a work around with funding an "account balance" more akin to buying credits in Clash of Clans.
