I actually think it’s the other way around: people don’t have kids so they can continue acting like kids

idk…when’s the last time you jumped off a swing? played tag? played pretend? ran around and giggled in public? had a sword fight? displayed big emotions in public without fear? there’s so much about childhood we lose as adults - a sense of imagination, of being carefree, of not having any responsibilities other than to grow and learn and discover yourself as a childless adult, you just have freedom from responsibility of taking care of a kid. you’re still very much so an adult with adult responsibilities and expectations 🥲
