The difference between Elon Musk and me lies in how hard we should work to maximize our value to the world. Muskβs value/hour to the world peaks if he works say 80h/week, then diminishes steadily towards negative marginal returns by say 100h/week. At which point itβs better for the world if he just chills instead of doing shit. My corresponding numbers are 6 hours and 20 hours. By hour 21 Iβm destroying value. People should be paid to work to their value-adding limit, and then paid not to work past it. The market mostly does this.
