New way to encode a profile picture dropped: https://x.com/Ethan_smith_20/status/1801493585155526675 320 bits is basically a hash. Small enough to go on chain for every user.

One important difference between shards and rollups that I did not get into is *upgradeability*: shards would upgrade their EVM automatically, rollups need their own governance. But could we change that? (thread)

One nice thing about EIP-4844 is how future-proof it is: 1. The only consensus change required to get us from where we are today to full 16 MB danksharding is a parameter change. 2. The point eval precompile returns the modulus, allowing rollups to be built to be forward-compatible with future changes to the modulus

But knowing how crypto works, helium team will just mint a new token for next cycle and run it back again lol, and u all will buy it up again. Last cycle they had $hnt, which was a big failure; they r running it back this cycle again with $mobile. Will this time be different? :)

Yes thx to token incentivization - they r removing most of the cost on the supply side by emitting and minting free tokens to suppliers (what happens when token incentivization ends?). I would love it to succeed but hnt still needs to prove that it has PMF after token incentivization runs out.

What are the "DePIN" projects that people think are most likely to actually work? It feels like the category is a new name for something that's been around for a decade (StorJ, various decentralized ubers...) but has never gotten off the ground? So what's the bull case for why it will get off the ground now?

Both supply and demand sides are heavily incentivized by their new token $mobile . What happens when token incentivization runs out?
