Question of the day: how far can the analogy between a modern computer and a Blockchain can be pushed?
One can argue that a blockchain currently has a single thread, smart contracts are programs and accounts are user management. 
What would be threads, processes, file systems,…?

Since a modern computer itself is a combination of a great many subsystems, I would assume that pushing the analogy to the blockchain world would require considering a cross-chain approach.
